For the past 70 years Australian soldiers of both world wars have played the game of two up, or as it was more generally called..."SWI", and even today some veterans continue to do so, especially on Anzac Day.

During that long period, the game has been frowned upon by the authorities, both military and civil, but the devotees continue to play it just the same.

In NSW practically every form of gambling is openly encouraged by the Government - lotteries, lotto, TAB Horse and Dog races, poker machines, football competitions etc etc...yet Two Up is not permitted, despite the fact that it is one of the fairest games on record.
